(4x5 double exposure c-type print, 14’’ speakers and amp, CRT monitor, collected theories and conspiracies, projector, DVD players, extension cords and multipacks, HD film 8:21mins, HD film 15:20mins, sound recording 10:22mins)

Fort Cautley, June 2012 investigates the military installation at Maungauika (North Head). Surveying the historic site, Fort Cautley deals with the language of investigation and supposition, particularly surrounding the "buried plane conspiracy". Mined conversations from RNZAF and adventure biker forums cycle on a CRT monitor, each comment appearing in isolation. This work explores the role of the social within the writing of historical 'facts'.
