Knowing Your Wrong I

Co-operative work with Lucy Meyle at St Paul St Gallery three.

Knowing You're Wrong was the first movement in a co-operative project between Lucy Meyle and Ziggy Lever. Each artist made works that were installed like an appendix to the other. The yellow (gorse coloured) walls functioned as a kind of catalyst for the installation—drawing the works together at the same time that they both looked outwards, and bouncing light around the space. The window-gazing videos and wooden structures in Lever’s work trying to get back to places that shouldn’t exist direct attention to the outside, whilst the dispersal of takeaway newsprint ephemera allude to other sites. The common theme of shifting between inside/outside challenged the autonomy of the artworks, and in this way they embraced a process of supplementing each other’s work.
